PATIENT RELATED DRIFT
BOSTON, MA...According to a nationwide survey by The Center for
Information and Study on Clinical Research Participation (CISCRP)
and Opinion Dynamics Corporation (ODC), 48% of survey respondents
feel that they would be less likely to take part in a clinical
trial given recent media coverage on the safety of certain prescription
drugs and four out of ten (41%) report feeling less likely to participate
due to recent lawsuit judgments against a drug company. Despite
these new findings, the majority of respondents (67%) believe that
clinical research studies are safe or somewhat safe which is virtually
identical to numbers reported in the CISCRP/ODC December 2004 survey.

REGULATORY AND CLINICAL STUDY KNOWLEDGE DRIFT
The committee on investigation of 1996 Trovan clinical trial in Kano.
"The Principal Investigator recruited by Pfizer was inexperienced in the conduct of clinical trials and appeared to have been used with the main objective of involving a local medical practitioner. He did not have a deep knowledge of both the scientific and administrative activities taking place. He also allowed the visiting Pfizer team to take away all patient data and records as well as the scientific analysis of the trial. Publications using the data generated by the trial where he was the first author did not sufficiently reflect his role."
